Cover Card Reader

A Covercard reader is a device that automatically reads and inputs Covercard information into the system. If you have this (Like the Cherry Smart reader shown below) reader available, you can use it to streamline the data entry process.


 

Cover Card

The cover card contains a unique identification number. The number indicated in the example below, is the key piece of information needed to register or update a patient's insurance details in the system.

How to Use in Eyesoft

• Go to the Patients tab and click the Edit button for the patient record you need to update.

• Locate the Covercard field and place your cursor inside it.

• Use one of the following methods to enter the cover card number:
  • With a card reader: Insert the card into your Cherry Smart terminal card reader. The system will automatically detect and populate the cover card number into the field.
  • Without a card reader: Manually copy and paste (or type) the cover card number into the Covercard Number field.
     
• Select OK
