NAS Storage

EyeSoft uses the customer's storage to save all documents outside the bancadata that are related to patient records (EyeSoft Documents).
The responsibility for storage (sufficient capacity, securing backups, ...) lies with the client (in cooperation with its IT partner).
Below we provide some minimum requirements based on our experience, and which should be further elaborated and adapted to the customer's need.

Single medical practice (single node, no needs for EyeSoft-Sync)

- BAYs: 4Bay or higher
- STORAGE: 4TB or higher

Synchronized medical practices (two or more medical practices synchronized between them, each node should be configured as follows):

Synchronisation Software
In case of multiple synchronized nodes, the synchronization of external storage is also the responsibility of the client.
SIplus is responsible for synchronization of data in the database, but external documents must also behave accordingly.
Based on our experience - we recommend the Resilio product (not in its basic home version, but in the licensed version Connect, which provides real-time data sync and transfer solution in terms of speed, scale & central management).

UPS Power Supply

External PowerSupply (UPS) are strongly recommended for connecting the servers to the power supply, so that they do not crash during small power outages (which can in worst cases lead to a corruption of the database), respectively give the system administrator enough time to shut down the servers properly.

Backup

A standard regular backup is initially set up by Siplus on the EyeSoft database (usually 1 time per day at night time, but then adapted accordingly to client's wishes). It is however important that the backups are then displaced in safe places so that a fully corruption of the server can be restored quickly.

- Monitor: strongly recommended 27", with resolution 2560x1440
- USB Port: for direct connectivity with ophtalmologic instrument (such as phoropter, autoref, ...) you need a USB-Serial adapter (wich will be provided by SIplus) and a serial cable (which will be normally provided by the instrument manufacturer or by SIplus).

Windows
- OS: Windows 11 or higher
- CPU: Intel Core i7 / i9 / AMD
- GPU: Please note, that Windows graphic card has a major influence on the performance (in terms of speed) of EyeSoft (a peculiarity that does not occur with Apple models), so we strongly recommend that Windows systems possess a GPU of at least 1GB or higher
- RAM: 16GB or higher
- SSD: 512 GB SSD or higher
- Monitor: strongly recommended 27", with resolution 2560x1440

Network & Connections

For quick support and remote maintenance, we require that all computers have TeamViewer installed on them (if it matches security policy and agreed upon with the IT company, it would nice to have a fixed password).
We also need if possible a VPN in order to have a second method of connection should Teamviewer stop working.
Client computers and the server must have fixed IPs.
Network and bandpass requirements: please simply use components according to the state of the art, with network switches with sufficient bandpass (gigabit).
- Good experiences were made (and therefore strongly recommended) with network devices from this manufacturer (Ubiquiti): link (frequently installed Network Switch :link)

Synchronized medical practices :

VPN between each single practice is mandatory in order to share and sync data and files.
